| Central Comms is an Alice Springs owned and operated company. We are committed to sourcing product locally where possible and available.
We are committed to the apprenticeship scheme, recognising the skills shortage in our industry sector. We currently have 2 apprentices on staff.
Communications is a vital part of the Central Australian lifestyle - particularly in remote areas, we see the apprenticeship scheme as an investment in the company's ability to provide ongoing essential services to this region.
We employ local people where possible and are a very family orientated company - providing flexibility for staff to attend to any of their children's' or families functions, school plays etc. This assists providing a stable workforce and ensures a long term investment in the local economy. All but 3 staff members own a house in Alice Springs - thus showing a solid commitment to our workforce and the local economy.
We firmly believe a stable workforce enables us to build a stronger business platform from which to operate. Ongoing relationships are built with customers, thus ensuring repeat business and therefore a flow on effect to the local NT economy.
Central Comms have employed Indigenous staff members in the past and are willing to do so again in the event a suitable applicant is available when required. We encourage the development of the Indigenous workforce and when operating in remote areas and communities, look to use local resources, including machinery and personnel when available.
In essence, these projects sustain the viability of our company for the long term, thus ensuring we will be able to provide ongoing services to the Government and Private sectors in the Pastoral, Mining, Indigenous and Tourism Industries.
With remote area communications being so important, it is vital that a business in the Centre of Australia is able to provide these services. Central Comms has a long term vision for the provision of these services and successful deployment of and involvement in projects such as this assist with our vision.
