Central Comms is an Alice Springs owned and operated company. We are committed to sourcing product locally where possible and available.

We are committed to the apprenticeship scheme, recognising the skills shortage in our industry sector. We currently have 2 apprentices on staff.

Communications is a vital part of the Central Australian lifestyle - particularly in remote areas, we see the apprenticeship scheme as an investment in the company's ability to provide ongoing essential services to this region.

We employ local people where possible and are a very family orientated company - providing flexibility for staff to attend to any of their children's' or families functions, school plays etc. This assists providing a stable workforce and ensures a long term investment in the local economy. All but 3 staff members own a house in Alice Springs - thus showing a solid commitment to our workforce and the local economy.

We firmly believe a stable workforce enables us to build a stronger business platform from which to operate. Ongoing relationships are built with customers, thus ensuring repeat business and therefore a flow on effect to the local NT economy.

Central Comms have employed Indigenous staff members in the past and are willing to do so again in the event a suitable applicant is available when required. We encourage the development of the Indigenous workforce and when operating in remote areas and communities, look to use local resources, including machinery and personnel when available.

In essence, these projects sustain the viability of our company for the long term, thus ensuring we will be able to provide ongoing services to the Government and Private sectors in the Pastoral, Mining, Indigenous and Tourism Industries.

With remote area communications being so important, it is vital that a business in the Centre of Australia is able to provide these services. Central Comms has a long term vision for the provision of these services and successful deployment of and involvement in projects such as this assist with our vision.

Central Comms specialises in Radio Communications systems, Satellite Television, Data, Internet and Telephone Systems, Communications Towers and Rigging Services, Commercial Closed Circuit Television systems (CCTV), Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Emergency Beacon solutions (EPIRB), Television and FM Radio re-broadcast systems. We have the in house ability to provide the concept, design and engineering phases right through to the successful rollout, commissioning and handover. This can be competently followed up by ongoing service contracts and maintenance.

Our company of 12 personnel consists of a fully stocked showroom with a Sales team of 2, a fully equipped service centre operated by a team of four, a Projects and Field Installation team which has three key personnel but has numerous additional resources and subcontractors available to add to its abilities. Finally each division of the business is backed up by a competent administration and management section consisting of three staff.

We strongly believe in multi tasking of important roles, which in the event of illness or leave of any one operator, there is redundancy to continue operating as efficiently as possible.

We run the whole business on a special job management software program called Jim2. This software allows instant access to any jobs status, procurement information, stock on hand, inventory control and has a very powerful job scheduling function which allows complete control over any projects and resources - large or small for an unlimited number of sites. This software provides the interface between our project management team and the installation teams and can be remotely access to allow live job updating by our field technicians.
